Shay Ventura, NP is a Family Nurse Practitioner who specializes in women’s health promotion. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from American Sentinel University (2014) and her Master of Science from Fresno Pacific University (2016). During her graduate study, she became interested in women’s specialty and primary care. Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis and management of common and complex health care problems throughout the life span.
Shay began her career in health care by working as a volunteer at Kaweah Delta Health Care District when she was only 15 years old. Since that time, she has logged nearly twenty two years of nursing experience in various areas of patient care (nurse aide, oncology, orthopedics, and surgical nursing, infection prevention, and now as a nurse practitioner).
Shay believes in health promotion and disease prevention. Shay’s combination of clinical education and experience provide a strong academic foundation for the kind of wellness approach to health care that Shay feels is critical to good patient care. She believes in building a long lasting and trusting relationship with patients and customers.
Julie D. Howison, FNP grew up in Kingsburg California. She started her nursing career at Kaweah Delta Hospital in 1985. She graduated as an RN in 1988 from the College of the Sequoias, while working in their Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and preoperative area. She continued to pursue her nursing education and graduated from the California State University Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor degree, and California State University Fresno State with a Masters degree. She has been a Nurse Practitioner for 15 years. She has also worked in a family practice setting for women’s health.
Outside of work Julie is involved in various community service organizations, including the Kingsburg Community Cancer Group. She enjoys traveling with her husband, Lou to the central coast to visit her three sons who are currently attending college. She also enjoys spending time with family in her free time.
Dr. Boone grew up in Orange County, and went on to graduate with honors from Stanford University. She completed her medical degree at The University of Southern California where she met her husband, Michael. Her residency in obstetrics and gynecology was completed at St. Louis University, and she has been in private practice in Visalia since 1996. Her specialty is gynecology with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgery including robotic surgery.
Outside of work, she is busy with her 3 daughters ranging from middle school to college age and her 3 Shih Tzus. When she has extra time, she enjoys photography and digital scrapbooking.
Originally from New York City, Dr. Levitan attended both college and medical school at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. His training was furthered with a residency in OG/GYN at Pennsylvania Hospital and remains current with additional training in new procedures and treatments. Since beginning his Visalia practice in 1982, he estimates that he has delivered over 6,000 babies here.
When not in the office, Dr Levitan enjoys playing tennis, travel, and ballroom dancing his wife Cheryl. He looks forward to welcoming you to our practice.
